We blind bill loads of grain too. I personally know where it’s from and going to. But a broker may not want the farmer to know who it is going to, so the farmer doesn’t try to sell it direct.

Different broker. There are brokers in almost every commodity. The truck brokers generally just finds loads and trucks. A commodities broker finds suppliers and buyers. Blind shipments are also big in the chemical business.

I will bet $100 no one can honestly answer this question.
    Who pays for the shipping?
And what are the real miles that they are paying for, the fake shipment, or the real shipment miles?

If I take a taxi across town, but I end up paying for a fare that was for a trip across the county, is that fair?

The shipper pays the truck and the rate is based on miles from the pick up to the delivery. On the bills from the pickup they will say "customer pick up", so they're not paying for it, and the shipper is not going to bill the receiver for shipping from the pickup to their warehouse and from there to the receiver.

Did you agree to the rate? Did they pay what you agreed to? If so it’s fair.

Let me break it down to you this way.

If the receiver or shipper is normally paying a rate for their material to be delivered from point A to B, and they find someone else to deliver that material that cost less... Because it's shorter in miles or cheaper in material, then someone is getting cheated on a bill that is showing blind

This is how blind shipments work. Company B purchases a product from company A. Instead of warehousing the product for later sales to company C, they schedule a truck to pick up at A and deliver to C. To protect their sales they don’t want company C to know about company A. Company B is paying for any and all transportation cost.
