Hey what is link to your YouTube vlog? I’m sure you can post - I think “promo” links are frowned upon.
Do you need CDL Permit before training?
Thanks

Update:
Sorry, I kind of fell off here on the updates. I finished up week one and two which consist of filling out paperwork, watching videos and finally getting into the truck. I was able to get in the truck a bit sooner than expected as I was the only “new” trainer on the yard. There was another guy who stayed another week as he didn’t get enough time in the truck or something.
You do a lot of pre-trip, backing practice, and basically cruising around the yard to get use to shifting. The trainer will eventually take you out for a few drives through different scenarios such as highway, urban areas, two lane roads etc.
The training is excellent! The main focus is to get you where you need to be to pass your CDL tests. The trainers are also 3rd party testers which is why you do not see or talk to one of them hardly at all as it would be a conflict of interest.
I have finished week 2, passes my CDL Test and gotten my CDL. The next step is that I head out in the morning with my trainer. I think we are going out for about 10 days, but I will be with a trainer for 3 weeks total on average. After that if all goes well, I will get into my own truck.
I hope this helps. @A.cam is a couple of weeks ahead of me and should be getting into a truck soon so he may be able to help with any additional questions as well. -
Update:
I left out Monday morning with my trainer. He seems to be a great guy and thankfully we get along great.
He threw me right in the seat and we headed out to Peoria, IL. I drove a little over 400 miles that day and he finished off to the receiver.
The next morning I docked the truck, we got unloaded then it was off again with me in the captains chair. Headed up to Middleville, Mi to the shipper, dropped and hook, then it was off again. I finished off my 8 hours by driving down into Battle Creek where he took over and carried us into the edge of PA for the night. This morning (day 3) we got up and I started the day again, short run (around 100 miles) to a pilot where we got cleaned up and are just hanging since we don’t deliver until morning.
Again, everything at RE West has been awesome so far. The equipment, the people, the miles. They’ve done everything they said during the interview process. I have no complaints.born&raisedintheusa and BigQuent Thank this. -
Loving the updates. Thinking about going to them when I get out the Army up here at Ft.Campbell.
