I want to make this thread to prevent drivers from buying the rand mcnally dash cam 100.
It doesnt pick up license plates which was 100% fine with me, the quality pretty dam good. But when i first bought it the battery life didnt last more than a half hour. Using the truck stops return policy i exchanged a few times for a different one thinking ive just been getting bad ones and its all the same. This is my first time owning a camera so i thought maybe they just dont last that long. It works fine at first but after a few months it becomes buggy and doesnt work properly without the charher plugged in, and now it just doesnt turn on at all. I guess at $100 you get what you paid for?? If you know a better long lasting camera i can use please let me know

Best dash cam I found I tried about six of them including GoPros which get hot and don't record very long, is the Rove 4k dashcam.
Got mine at Amazon for $169 although the prices come down the trick is to buy a Samsung u3 card it says it takes a 128 GB microSD but I've been using a 256 GB card and it works fine it can record about three solid days before it starts over right.
Here's some pics. These are just low-quality screenshots from some of the video, the video quality is quite a bit better than these lower-quality screenshots I took.
