You keep your old license along with paperwork they give you until new license arrives

Its the same in all states as part of the 2020 Real Id. People without a compliant license will be denied domestic boarding and access to federal installations including VA, Courthouses, bases etc.

We will have to renew as well, but because we are just basic car licensing it's a matter of proving residency which itself is not a problem.

 

Sure you can. It's a perfectly legal driver's license. I get a paper temporary license every time I renew. I send a copy of it to my company compliance department, and I drive with it. When the new one comes I send a copy of that to compliance. Neither Swift nor Landstar have complained about it.

 

In TN the DMV gives you a paper CDL on the spot. They call it "temporary". They mail your laminatef CDL to your address. BTW, keep your paper temp license someplace separate from your laminated CDL, in xase you lose your CDL. It may keep you out of big trouble.

 

MN is probably struggling to do everything in 809 languages so people don't feel "otherized" by learning English.

I do understand the joke, but being the United States does not have an official language, you can literally speak whatever you want here and be free. So that kills the joke that you must be english speaking in America, for me. English is only de facto because majority speak it, but its not the law, or official language. Melting pot right?

 

I've no idea. It boggles the mind.
My daughter had to wait over a month for her simple ID card - not even a drivers license.

It is a great place to live, but they clearly have some issues.
