New High Security License

Oregon issues paper only on the spot. CDL or any other class license is mailed. Yes it's legal. Much bigger things to worry about.

 

Everybody up there is just laid back? Too much canadianism flowing into your way of life i suppose? Give me those north central states any day of the week. WI, MN, Dakotas, MI, etc i like them

 

Just a thought. Snap a pic of the front and back with your phone. Also, commit to memory your number.

 

The paper one is perfectly legal until hard copy shows up.

 

not in my state...we renew every 5 years, and renew the hazmat/finger printing as well.

we HAVE to get a new photo each time.

so we get a photo copy of our CDL, and they take away our older one...

less than 2 weeks, comes in the mail.

and we can only go to our main DMV, no other DMV locations, or the local AAA office.

 

I know in Fairbanks Alaska they stop issuing driver's licenses and CDLs hard copies now they just give you a piece of paper looking driver's license and you have to wait for the a real one to be mailed.. I asked one of the people how come they changed it they said there was cases of fraudulent activity whatever that means now everything had to come from the main office.

 

Last time I renewed in Texas that’s what they did plus they cut off a corner of the old license. I’m renewing again [in person] in about a month and will see what they’re doing now.

 

GET your CDL renewed TODAY! I would expect you to get the hard copy back within 2 weeks. If you don't GO BACK to DMV and seek guidance.
Before you go to DMV make sure you have all the documents the state requires. Let's NOT jump the shark here worrying about monsters under the bed that most likely are not there!
