I have a 2018 peterbilt 579 with a paccar motor. When I turn the ignition on, all my exterior lights come on including my hazards. The display on the dash reads "FCAN Databus Failure (Exterior Lighting) Pull over Safely and Seek Service"
My high beams, signals, headlight interrupt and clearance interrupt won't work at all. I have 1000 miles to drive before Monday and no peterbilt dealers are open, what can I do?

DavidK57918, mhyn and Driver Glen Thank this. -
All the fuses seem to be good
-
Fuses are labeled G1-G6 on a conventional
SAR and Driver Glen Thank this. -
I only have a G1 and it's a bus type, I'm not sure how to check those
-
Wow that sucks!
WTH happened to Peterbilt quality anymore?
I'd be making some calls to the receiver and customer ASAP. -
I know, I'm ready to just go buy a pre emissions truck and get rid of all the bsKB3MMX Thanks this.

it's probably a bad wire or a data link connection problem. basically it is your chassis node not sending the signal to your cecu or vice versa. I have found bad wires right by the node or behind the front cab mount. you need a wiring diagram, ohm meter and a lot of time.
DavidK57918 and KB3MMX Thank this. -
Check the wiring at the support bracket under the LF cab mount just behind the driver steer tire. Commonplace for wiring to rub through and cause issues. I have also found some rubbing on the back of the chassis node below your feet under the cab.
As already suggested, check all the"G" fuses in the underhood fuse box and dont forget to close the door when your through looking.DavidK57918 and KB3MMX Thank this. -
is the truck still under warranty?
KB3MMX Thanks this.
