FFE - do they train in manuals, driver facing cams & starting pay

That would be somewhat better than our time. My Spouse was a student with FFE and me as trainer in 2000. During 2001 we were issued a automatic century brand new, no cameras and she was paid like .28

Things have changed in someways since then. For the better as well I imagine, since they were able to eliminate certain persons that were not good for the company. (One was caught embezzling for the second time in MS)

I understand FFE has been sold and I also observe they pretty much stopped running as they used to here in Arkansas excepting for a occasional.

We have been away from FFE too long to offer you any answers to your questions. It's not a bad outfit provided you are nice to the people who decide how to run you.

 

I'd like to get some up to date info on FFE out of DFW area. Anyone running Line Haul out of there currently? If so, how are they treating you on miles? I'm looking between FreyMiller, FFE, and last choice, Swift. I think I'll end up with FFE, because I'm not sure I can get qualified for financing of my CDL A School. So I'll have to go the company school route. Thanks again guys.

 

I run linehaul, but I team with hubby. While solo though I ran roughly 2000 miles a week @ .40 a mile during winter. Spring, summer, fall closer to 3000 miles. Then you also got layover pay. You also help out local which is hourly pay. My average take home pay was $800 a week ($1150 gross)

I would stay out 6 - 8 weeks. Home for 3 days.

I learned in a manual. 1st truck was a freightliner manual, 2nd was an volvo automatic (loved it) 3rd is a freightliner automatic. Not bad, comes with a fridge and inverter. Forward facing camera (only activated during critical events or crashes)
