My experience is that they won’t do the service until it’s overdue and your truck is on service hold.

Actually, it is a bit inspection - which is done every 90 days.
That first message was 5 days until it is due. On day 6 you could be placed on safety hold by the shop.
It is the b service that starts the messages with a mileage countdown.
I'm due for one, and will be around 300 miles past due when I deliver my current load. I will be on hold at that time and will have to get to a shop before I can take any more loads.dptrucker Thanks this. -
Moved into a local position with a dedicated run out of my home terminal. Sorta novel getting to run as a "local" driver but with my same 'ol trusty sleeper truck. Maybe ideal, even. Can't imagine a 14-hour day followed by driving home to shower, eat, sleep, driving back, etc.
If I lived closer to the terminal I'd be home daily. As it stands I'll be home on the weekends. I feel very lucky to have this opportunity, and was only offered it because I was reliable and didn't decline loads/counter with BS times.
Running from Richmond, VA into the DC metro area probably sounds like hell to most people, but I can think of plenty of places that are much worse than the run I have now. -
Jurupa terminal.
Delivered that Costco load in Henderson nv last nite.
They had me deadhead here for a empty trailer move.
Got a load that picks up in carson ca at 1200 and tcall at the Albuquerque nm terminal tomorrow evening -
Home in Burnsville tonight, and tomorrow night.
I was trying to find out if I could deliver a load a day early, which was a definite no from CSR.
I was also going on safety hold for a b-service.
The DM at IGH decided to bring me here to t-call the load and get the b-service, instead of waiting an extra day to deliver and then having to get the service done.
So two birds with one stone.
I'll get the service done earlier and was able to deliver this load in this pay period. That makes for a 3,400 mile week. Sweet.JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this. -
Prewitt nm.
Got the bit service and a service done today at Albuquerque terminal. Took 4 hrs.
Got this load that goes to sacraments ca with no appt times for delivery yet.
Hope I can get it in Friday.
Got here and load is not ready. Sou ds like they turned a few trucks around. So hopefully mine can. Security says I can wait 2 hrs here b4 I have to leave.
Winds were terrible. Strong crosswords blowing a good 30 mph. Gust about more.
It wasn't blowing at all at the terminal or I wouldn't have left -
I called the shop at around 1030 this morning to check on my truck. They said it would be ready this afternoon.
My sister drives me to the terminal at 1300, then I am told it will be this tomorrow. I need drive tires and they won't be in until tomorrow.
So, another day at home, so sad so sad.
I'm just hoping to beat the big storm that is heading in on Saturday. -
Barstow ca at the flying j.
Left this morning with more wind. Was worse east of flagstaff. Once I got past it got better till I got near Barstow when it came up again.
On the way car sent me a appt time for tomorrow nite at 2359. Called dm to see if I could tcall it in the morning. Said no.
So gonna try and get it delivered in the morning and if not. Then I will deliver it at minute and take Saturday off.
Sat at the shipper for 3 hrs last nite. Original load wasn't gonna be ready till Friday
So another driver showed me how to contact csr and got the final changed. Was going to Sacramento but now going to city of industry. A loss of 300 miles. -
I hate those late night deliveries, especially when they throw it on you at the last minute.
I got a call this afternoon asking if I would take another truck to deliver a load to Fargo, ND at 0230. They were having a hard time covering the load, and no wonder. It is probably a grocery place that would take 4 or 5 hours to unload.
I said no because I have been up all day and I was not going to drive into the night for such a late delivery. I also had no way of knowing when my sister would get back to drive me back to the terminal.
And take a different truck? Are they crazy?
What would I get, a day cab? Even if a sleeper, I would not have what I need to sleep and eat. And then I would have to get back here to get my own truck back.
I do not need the miles that much, and favors are seldom returned in kind.dptrucker Thanks this. -
I finally have my own DM again.
When I got to IGH I got Melody. She left about a week later. Then I got Jackie, and she left a few weeks later.
Since then I have been homeless and without. It has been a few months in limbo.
Now I have Chris. A young guy, and the one to arrange my t-call at IGH on my last load that allowed me to get home for a couple days.
He seems cool and not afraid to plan me himself, when IGH 'does not plan loads' because we are planned out of Edwardsville.
So now I am headed to Salt Lake City, and it was my own choice.
I sometimes need that route so I can get my pipe tobacco in WY.
I called to change my route. I was sent I-90 through SD and then down on state and US highways to I-80 in WY. I wanted to take I-35 down to I-80 west all the way. That way would take me south of the major storm system.
It was approved, and the DM even changed the routing to include the extra 100 miles in my load assignment.JOHNQPUBLIC and dptrucker Thank this.
