Time to start looking for a new company I think.

I don't really want to because I like the company I am at, and they have great equipment but we don't have the work. We haul mostly NGL oil and they lost a bunch of work on the first. It was a little slow before and NGL kept saying it would pick up on the first, only to find out that we were loosing some work instead. Been here for two months and worked for Xcaliber for a month as well before I had enough of their junk equipment so that puts me at about three months crude hauling experience and about 4.5 years of CDL driving experience.

There is also the cost of living issue here in Carlsbad. I'm paying 800 a month just to park a camper so I am thinking its time to move on.

Anybody got any leads on outfits to look into? I am looking for home daily and strongly prefer day shift hours. I like the short runs too. Not real interested in the long hauls that some folks like. I do want the option to take home time once in a while though I do not go home often (haven't been back home to Wisconsin since I came down here).Other than that if the equipment is good and the money is there I'm interested.

That's what caught my attention also. Carlsbad, CA or Carlsbad, NM.
Wisconsin CDL? In Wisconsin; what is the nearest city/town to you.
Are you leaving the oil fields and want regular trucking?

Carlsbad New Mexico. I want to stay in the patch hauling crude. Texas or New Mexico. I am done with northern winters. Looking for a 5 week on one week off or similar rotation that will also let me work my week off if I choose. Right now I am three weeks on one week off but I never take my week off.

Not looking to go to regular trucking at all. I just want to go back to making 2000 to 2500 a week hauling crude. Even with the loss of work Im still going to be looking at 1400 to 1500 a week at my current job which is better than most OTR jobs but it's poverty wages compared to what I should be making hauling crude.

...might try direct work w/ halliburton , keene, elite, slumberJ, not really crude hauling, but they do have the hrs and time off your looking for. Google them , or stop by there yards and yak at them.

Great Lakes was hiring, not sure what they pay. I didn't have enough time for them.

I bet they pay by the load, because their drivers are always in a hurry.
