Friday evening P.U.I (Posting Under the Influence. Posion: Zinfandel Port from Terra D'oro Winery, Plymouth, California)
Due to the departure of Sir Dingus McChungus III Esq. of the Kingdom of Slowasfnebsia, we're short handed and things are picking up. Have an order for Monday morning to a job site that's a block away from my house. I've joked that we should just have small miscellaneous product for that job shipped to my house, so I can just toss it to the crew in the morning to start my day. I had that order pulled, prepped and loaded on the truck in 2 hours. Would have taken our dearly departed at least all afternoon plus into Monday A.M to accomplish the same task.
But that's not the point. I'm just kicking a puppy who just didn't have the chops to do what we do. Call me an a-hole, just don't call me late for dinner.
In order to get them their stuff promptly, I decided to commute home in the semi dragging a flatbed full of parts. Dropped the trailer in a secure yard in town and the bobtail is parked in my driveway (enjoyed the cross eyed looks I got from neighbors as I pulled into the cul-de-sac). Will be up early Monday, go snatch the trailer and make the delivery first thing so I can get back to base and be ready for whatever may come. Customer service, baby.
Where am I going with this? Man I missed being in the seat. Three months of not driving and I was getting withdrawls. The commute home was nice and chill. Some KMFDM playing over the stereo, cruise set at 65 (sue me, truck speed limit in OR is 60) and not a care in the world. Relaxed and calm like a Hindu Cow. Enjoy the hell out of it, despite occasionally wanting to punch a kitten because reasons we all know.
Anywho, you real truckers keep on keepin on. My day-cab drivin arse is gonna have a beer to wash down the wine.blairandgretchen, 1951 ford, cke and 17 others Thank this. -

Wife asked to take me out, I said yes. Should have known better. Had to wait around 1 hour in TJ Max before I could get a 16oz ribeye at Texas Road House. She might have tricked me, but it cost her!7-UP, 1951 ford, snowman_w900 and 19 others Thank this. -
I'm glad I didn't do shots for this Jets game. 8-1 over Carolina. I'd be on the floor right now.
