    So here is a shocker that will probably make people think twice about doing this. So as I said I had to stay home for a week last week due to weather issues. I figured out how much money it cost me and all I can say is ouch.

    Cost per day to sit $220 * 5 days = $1100.00

    Lost revenue for 5 days = $ 2764.10

    Total = $ 3864.10

    Another good way to save fuel is drop the wagon and go to a local gas station. For example: truck stop fuel here in Vegas is 3.36 per gallon. Local station up the road is 2.89. That's a big savings.

    I keep a good eye on the price of fuel. So far it is a battle between the company I work for and the loves down the road. The always are around a few cents within each other. The problem is that I never know what the price of fuel is until I get the fuel breakdown on my settlement. My company gets a good discount at loves and there pump at the yard doesn't have a price dial on it. I just know it is the cheapest fuel anywhere I run because there is no fuel tax in Oregon.

    I don't know where you got the two month shut down for weather from. It was a little over two weeks. I ended up taking off around two months between 34 resets most weekends, vacations, and weather. The reason for the weather shutdown was due to injury the first time and the second was due to no loads in my area according to my company. I can believe it though due to no power for almost a week in most the places we load out of in my area.
