It all depends on who and what was done to the engine. A good high end rebuild gets expensive. I will and have tossed cash in a engine. With every plan of buttoning it up and running another million.

Set back front axle... That’s a rare bird.

True, but does that typically add to resale value?

At least with a steel hood like on a Paystar of that vintage you could make one if need be.

My classic was 12 years old when i bought it. 13k I borrowed at 5.5%. Scattered engine 12 months later and borrowed another 20k and dropped to 5.0%. Now I have done alot of business with them and they are not a big commerical bank. I have bought things and called to tell them to cover the check I wrote. Pays to have a relationship. Anymore I am trying not to finance anything. Have a good cash reserve and loan the money to your self
Then make payments back to yourself. This is how you can sit at home when the rates are in the toilet and never put cheap freight on the trailer.
