    Hello yall

New to trucking and obviously my mc is new. Having hard time to get decent price for the loads im hauling. I heard some people buy established mc to book a decent priced load. How do i deal with this stuff?- Love trucking been struggling working for others most companies lie on con rates. Decided to work on my own.
    God bless yall.

Just got to keep at it. Right now I'm not having much luck getting brokers to come up with more money. Maybe it's just me and I'm not good at negotiating. IDK. Capacity is down right now and that's never good for rates. I'm getting decent to good rates but can't squeeze any extra out of them.

I don't think it's your MC# but more likely the current state of rates or your area. Keep your head down, work hard and things will improve.

It's less about your MC# and more about market forces. Currently, rates are down a little. Stuff is cyclical. They'll likely pick up again going into summer, here. In general, it's less about your age and more about when and where you're at.

You've got the double whammy. Rates are low and you have new numbers. I'm 5 months in with my new numbers and brokers are just starting to call me instead of the other way around. Rates are slowly climbing so there isn't much you can do about that. Join DAT load board and post your truck often. You'll get calls from it. You can also use the Convoy app to look for loads and post your truck, and you get paid immediately with no factoring fees. Hang in there, it will get better.

They’re taking advantage of the Market, not just you. Be careful what you book. It will pick up soon, another month or so. Don’t just settle, or seem anxious, You still have what they need, The Truck.

Yeah like others said rates are down a lot. Get better at negotiating and learn different markets and lanes. If you are not on DAT then sign up like was mentioned.

Where your truck is positioned means everything, especially when rates are down. Gotta be strategic.

How much have you been getting for all miles?

Probably one of the worst times to start a new MC the market is so bad right now.

Try to find a direct customer if you can that will keep you busy, avoid brokers.

As a broker, market rates are just generally down across the board. There are ways to get around a new MC though!

-Be polite and personable on the phone, lots of us go with a "gut feeling" for drivers regardless of numbers
-Be willing to accept tracking on loads, I've overlooked numerous carrier issues for a driver who was willing to take tracking on the load.
-If there is going to be ANY delay or issue, just communicate and face it head on.
