I might do things different than alot. But the tru balance pins to align the hub pilot wheels to the studs makes a world of difference. It however takes time and is not fast, so most wont use them. It will solve a lot of issues that came with hub pilot, that stud pilot never had. But newer is better right! I will not install a set of wheels without them. Dont buy knock of version either, they aint the same.Feedman, BoxCarKidd, Zeviander and 14 others Thank this. -
My only problem with stud pilot steers is it seems like the studs take all the shock of hitting the pot holes. I’ve never broke a wheel stud unless it was stud pilot and I’ve broke 5 of them

Well you could swap hub pilots on, but seems something is a miss. Or you have big fricken pot holes. Start with using a torque wrench yourself and see if the problem improves? Most studs break (shear) only when over tightend buy a large air wrench. They get beat to death if to loose.Last edited: Mar 10, 2019

The Stomach is currently having withdrawals. I noticed Iron Skillet has a “Blueberry Pancake” option on the menu now...
They didn’t live up to the title. So it’s been mad at me all day for not dropping wagon and bobtailing to the nearest Cracker Barrel. I’ve been a piss poor owner and host — in his words.Feedman, Zeviander, BigCam9670 and 13 others Thank this. -
The only time I have seen front stud pilots break is being left loose. Usually if they break when going back on they were already stressed and just survived the dismount.
@rank one thing you may give some thought to is making sure you have the right drums on. I have seen too small a hole drum used on the rears that created issues. I'm with @Oxbow might have a lil something going onFeedman, Zeviander, BigCam9670 and 16 others Thank this.
