I got nothing to add. Read the other driver's posts and listen to them. Avoid CR.

If you give an idea of your homebase we'll be able to guide you better. Some companies only run certain routes and have yards in certain cities. If you're not in a city that they settle in you might as well save the time required to apply.

If you have the money or can qualify for a loan. Go to a good CDL school. All of them work with trucking companies so you’ll have no problem getting a job. Get couple years experience and then you can decide what you want to do. LTL for good money and home every night/day, O/O for more freedom, OTR whathever works for you.
Just remember take your time. Don’t bump into anything and keep your license clean. In two years you can have pretty much any trucking job you want.
    Good luck.
Oh ya don’t go to CRE. Ask on here who are the better training companies if you have to go that route.

It’s okay to dream like that when they are vehicles it’s gets bad when u try attaching a license plate to pedestrians though.

Google "Travel Inn Portage" it's at 6101 Melton rd in Portage, Indiana.

That's where CR England houses its students. That should be a great indicator of how horrible of a company CR England is. Roaches, cat pee, bed bugs, no heat, no AC, just some of the 300 negatives listed under the reviews on Google maps for that run down motel.

If you have a clean driving & criminal history plus can document your last 3-10 work history, I would avoid CR England like the plague. You can do much much better. Go to YouTube and search CR England 3 bunk truck. It's miserable.

Google trucking companies in your city & state. You will have plenty of options and probably never have to be away from home more than 1 or 2 weeks. Every company is hiring. Most companies hire newbies. The big reasons newbies leave before 1 year is not getting home and low pay. CR England will deliver both, IMO.

DON'T think a Google search will get you great optiond. Google will tell you Swift, Prime, Western Express, CR England and a few others. Prime is not a bottom feeder but the others are. There is a world of difference between a company that hires a thousand drivers per year and one that hires 5-10 per year. Work for a company near you. Talk to driver who work there. That last bit is rule #1 for getting a good driving job. A bad driving job will feel like a prison sentence, except you pay for your own food.

    wear.yer.kilt Thanks this.
