    Holland fw 17 with fresh kit still has slack. Is my top plate shot. 550,,000 miles on plate

    you have to adjust them and everytime you adjust you have to unlatch and then relatch to check the slack

    Do you have the bolt with nut in front for adjustment? If so follow Holland’s instructions on adjusting. Basically loosen bolt enough that when hooked, you can still spin washer by hand if not loosen nut some more

    A better way to say it is loosen nut up hook trailer,while eased up on fifth wheel tighten nut till washer is snug, but is still able to be turned. Proper recommended way is to get “kingpin” tool, and adjust
