I got faith in screwdriver, he wouldn't be in business this long if he turned out a crappy product , I told him to make it clear 1st and Loud 2cnd, we'll see what he comes up with I'm not worried about it , he's the radio expert not me
Slowmover1 Thanks this. -

I had to laugh and give screwdriver a little crap today though, I got my general "thank you for your order email" and it let me know the radio should be shipped out within approximately 7 Days via FedEx..
I emailed him back saying "so let me get this right you're shipping a UPS truck driver His Radio via FedEx? Are you kidding me!!!" ..... I ended the email with "it's no big deal I'm not in a hurry I'll wait the extra 2 days that it takes FedEx to get it here and hope it's not damaged"
it's all good thoughbooley, Slowmover1, wolverine11 and 1 other person Thank this. -

You will like the 99v2, I have had one a couple of years now and had it aligned by Robert at Clays Cb, on full RF power it has a carrier of 12 watts and pep swing to 48 watts, modulation is 100% loud and clear, the receive is great and the prefered mic is the Ranger sra 198, unfortunately Im driving a Kenworth T680 and the radio wont fit in the cb tray so Im unable to use it at present, enjoy.
Slowmover1 and JesusFreak316 Thank this. -
Recently was there to mate it to a 300W amplifier.
With the Variable Power re-adjusted:
Low: 2.25W deadkey & 15W modulated
High: 15W modulating 30W
(Brand new it was closer to 50W)
But the best mike on this one has been an ASTATIC 636L Robert mated to it new. (Have tried 5 other mikes).
I second everything else in the above post. NOT mentioned is the occasional fun one can have with the noise toys and voice changers built in.
The right amount of “whacko” at the right time can be pretty funny to everyone.
Be sure to add a WEST MOUNTAIN RADIO CLEARSPEAKER
That will change your life.
I was running the oilfield in 2014. Groups of us would be dispatched. And I’d be talking with some distant driver, and invariably one of our guys would break 19 to ask who the hell I was talking to.
My total system was completely new. Most I’d ever spent at one time. And some of the other guys had more into theirs than I did. Every one of us in identical consecutive-serial large cars. Most had had Robert put the analyzer on their antennas. All co-phased and tuned Wilson 2000, 5000, Predator, Monkey-Made.
Move up from CB to HAM and you’re paying for digital signal processing (among other things).
Add it to a CB, and you’ll be amazed. More than once I’d have a phone call interrupted by another asking if I could hear so&so. And sometimes I could. But the rest couldn’t. (This is when angel & devil tussle over your using noise/voice to mess with everyone far away).
Enhances every improvement you make. (See DX Engineering).

Wasn't it Bobs CB that used to be next to the produce market in Boston? Wandered in there once and was pretty impressed...I think he moved to PA to be close to a couple truckstops?

That speaker is 3/4's the cost of the radio it better be good lolll
I'm putting this 99v2 in my shop to start with hooked up to a sirio gain- master antenna on top of a 35ft mast with 75ft of Rg-213 coax i bought from a guy who couldn't put it up at his new house (landlord not cool with it), if i find anyone out there to yack with I'll probably end up putting it in my work truck to replace my aging and starting to have issues old 66 and get that galaxy 98 for the shop or maybe the big ranger although I'm pretty old school and don't really care for buttons especially if they beep at me when I push them lollll
But I'll think about that speaker also if I'm having trouble hearing people in the distance, would be a waste of time in my work truck, UPS buys the most strip down tractors you can imagine and the cab noise is ridiculous lolllSlowmover1 Thanks this.
