So I asked amish girl walking down the road were she was going?

    I'm leaving my community.

    Why I asked?

    Too Mennonite!

I started with a bare block, had counterbores cut and ended up having the deck cut too. No cutoff, just cleaned it up. It wasn't as bad as it looked when I first pulled the 5th wheel frame.

After doing this project, I'm ready to move out of the country into a condo. For 9 months I worked in the shop on customer vehicles and then drug the truck in nights and weekends. I went a full month off of 3-4 hours of sleep and a afternoon nap and didn't get to relax until the engine was in and the truck moved under it's own power. My wife would steer while I pushed it in/drug it out with the tractor, and I think she hated it as much as I did.

I bought it with the engine locked up, spun main and a couple rods welded to the crank. I *thought* the rest of it looked pretty good, and I painfully learned just how much I didn't know to look for.

I kept the block and crank to see if either could be saved or used as a core -

Yes! It's a sharp old truck. The 4 speed manual would give it the old truck feel.

It's a nice idea... but.... The Flintstones, like Ford owners (and I have no brand bias, mind you) seem to have a lot of foot miles invested. Seems to be the only way they can get it to go anywhere... Lol.

Not brand biased either but I'm pretty sour towards anything Chrysler. After my very negative experience with a Dodge Ram and a pathetic local dealership I highly doubt there will ever be another Chrysler product in my driveway. Chevy and Ford have never let me down yet.
