I usually got in my airplane & went flying but I sold it in 1995 because it got too rich for my blood
-
If I had lots more money, and able to pull more than 2Gs before feeling like I am greying out, I would love to have a C-172.
I really enjoy flying that plane. I like being able to sightsee without looking over a wing, and the glide ratio is good also. -
There is your answer right there. The FMCSA rules just back it up for you.

That's a sissy airplane but a good starter. And it flies cheaply and is really hard to crash because of the overhead wing loading. Real "Slowboat to China"....only do about 80 or 85 knots Burns 100 octane avgas and only uses about 6-gallons an hour (somewhere around 25 miles per gallon). Mine burnt about 12-gallons per hour, per engine but it was pressurized & had a service ceiling of 28,000 feet
& about 200 knots with a good wind, but the controls started getting a little mushy around 26,500 or so. I flew A-4's in the Navy & my last personal toy was a Piper Aztec. Do a photo websearch for that & see what you think.
I think I saw something about 2-months ago that Cessna went belly-upLast edited: Mar 26, 2009

I'm a sissy when it comes to airplanes.
I just flew for fun and recreation. What you had would be nice for trips. I don't, and did not, have the means to own or operate an airplane, so rentals. The pipers were fun, but hard to sight see out of on a Sunday evening.
I've only flew C150 - C172, and Piper Warrior. Been around a few Comanches and J-3s, but never flew them. I haven't been up in a few years though, but starting to get the itch again.
BTW, the Aztec is a REALLY nice plane. -
Here's one of my favorites
