Haven't you seen all the newbies willing to work for food because a sleeper is more comfortable than a cardboard box ? $.50 to start ? Do you really expect pay to double in this century ?

Yes sir I really do. This economy will turn around eventually. And the EOBR is the future.

If I have to run 100% legal. I will get paid for all that time I work.

Right now, very few companies that are NOT Union, actually pay their employees to work. They only pay them to drive.

.50 a mile will go a long way in offsetting the 5-15 hours "On Duty, Not Driving" that many drivers log each week. Without pay.

OOIDA isn't going to do this for me or you. Neither is the Union. But that EOBR will do it, within 6 months of implementation....mark my word.

Nobody in their right mind will work for a trucking company that limits the driver to less than 1500 miles a week, while logging 60 plus hours. And the companies who can't provide the logistics, will have to offset it with money.

This thread started out asking if anyone had anything good to say, and look where it has come to! How quickly a positive can become another negative.

What negative about providing information about pay increases, and the things that can lead to them?

And I do believe, there was much positive feedback provided in the first few pages. Although someone forgot to sugar coat a lot of it, for the youngins.

OK. I sit corrected. Maybe I need to go inside and get some more coffee. I probably just woke up grumpy sitting here waiting for a load! :biggrin_25525:

We'll just have to agree, to disagree. :biggrin_25525:

I hate the thought of what EOBR will mean to the industry and the drivers who do this because they really like it.

But I believe it will bring about bigger changes than any single item/regulation ever, if implemented.

Whether it's 6 months, 6 years, or never... we will surely find out now that Big Brother is in the White House. EOBR is gonna happen, unfortunately. Regulation is choking the life and the fun out of this industry!

You think the past 6 years have been fun? I'm basing that on the amount of experience you listed.

You'd be as grumpy or grumpier than me and others, had you started in the 70's and 80's.

Those were the days :yes2557: And they ain't comin back :biggrin_2553:
