Im sitting in Dryden right now after a reset. I parked on icy but melting ground but nothing i thought would be an issue. I do my best to park where i wont be in the way....anyway, the short of it is, the ground froze and the truck wont come out. Ive been trying for 2 hours, chisleing and threw tire chains under for some traction to no avail....i flagged down one of the "new canadians" a member of team brown...asked for a little tug just so it would come up and out of the little hole its in. Tells me no problem, i turn around to go to the truck, he takes off!
Im sitting here in a truck that has tow hooks but no pins, tire chains with no cam tool and no tow strap and 100 drivers that wont help. I did have one driver come over but once we discovered that the tow hooks had no pins, there was really nothing he could do.
I suppose its partially my own fault for not making sure i had EVERYTHING i needed but is there no hope for truckers? No comradery(sp?). We are supposed to band together and help eachother out, especially when you see a new driver struggling....I would NEVER do anything as gutless as what that ####### just did....old or new, brown or not, Id help....what a sad industry this is!
Is there no hope left?

You don't have power divider and 4 way lockers ...?

Snag a flatbed driver. I’ve found them, old or new, to be more helpful than 99% of the drivers out here today.
Sorry for your troubles. But this is the sorry state of trucking today.D.Tibbitt, Canadianhauler21, Lumper Humper and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ive had a couple guys come over now but without the tow pins its not likely to work so well....company is sending a tow truck but id rather have not had to do that...oh well, it is what it is i guess

Lock up the power divider and throw sand under the tires.
Don't use low or first gear, put in second, or third if you're light, Use the clutch gently, in and out, to get a gentle rocking motion going, try not to spin the tires, or cut some pine boughs if you can't find sand and throw them under the tires.
Make sure your trailer brake pads aren't frozen to the drums, first.
Even when I pulled vans and reefers I carried 2 or 3 chains in case I needed a tug or something to throw under the tires in situations like the one you're in.
Sell the latte machine and buy a couple good chains.D.Tibbitt, HELLBENTDENT, Bksrt8 and 1 other person Thank this. -
You sure your brakes aren’t frozen?

Dryden was slacking at snow removal all winter behind the 7/11 street and the husky was getting a good layer of snow pack .. these warmer temps cause people to sink easy and get stuck ...PS if I was still going that way and saw you stuck I offer my help every time
HELLBENTDENT, Bksrt8 and Phantom Trucker Thank this. -

not sure if your out yet , but for future reference, when you first realize your spinning , stop , drop air bags on tractor, put in reverse and try going a bit backwards , then let it rock forward .
as a rule of habit , i usually reverse first , then go forward. hope it helps
