I neglected me other than good eating for 20 plus years of my life if not more.

Medical repairs started in ernest after roughly 2006 when about 20 separate doctors have determined a laundry list of past due medical problems, mostly related to neglect and work in the trucking industry. Ive had 7 surgeries since that year and expect three more minimum. All of which carefully decided on to actually FIX the problems before I hit the 60's into my senior years. If the doctor can fix it, have at it. If it's something that's going to be messed up and not fix eff it. Even if it kills me early. Ive got a couple of those. One surgeon has balls and want to do a particular type of surgery and frankly I am scared of it and him. I also refuse to be treated like a milk cow for money from insurance. It's already running 10 to 20 a year for the last 12 years (Thousands) and this year is already exceeding 60K. With about another 40K to go at a minimum now that I met the deductible, I have three docs wanting to cut into my repairs for free to me. I see it as a opportunity.

Im not going to fix everything but when they are finished, I hope to return to trucking temporarily in some form before some of the issues really become disqualifying under DOT regulations which seem to be getting tighter every year. Medicines I am taking has stopped for now. If they can stay stopped the rest of this year then we will see what's possible next.

I've had both my quad tendons ruptured (at different times) First time I was out 3 months, Doc wanted to make sure I could push on that clutch incase his family got in front of me.
Second repair on my right leg, I was out 4 months because of an infection. Rehab can be tough but you just have to do what they say...

Do not jump from your trailer. That is too high impact. My neighbor needed a hip replacement at age 38. At the one year mark he finally felt like he could do some things so when his friends asked him to play volleyball he said "sure I can do that". The first time he jumped the implant came loose when he landed and he needed revision surgery. It has been several years since the revision surgery and he has a bad limp and chronic pain.

My limp comes from the knee. The left one is worse due to the overuse of the old iron clutches etc.

One day at 24th birthday we were down in Charles street taking in the Habor in Baltimore and the subway was open. After checking time of last train to Owings mills we got tickets and gtfo. One of the stupid things I did in life was to go against the escalator. A little bit of racing atually.

Near the top where the steps shift and settle affter completing the rotation, my foot took that one move slipped it's sole and the entire body hung off balance I pushed off it fast and tried to get the next one up. As stupid is stupid does that left knee rammed into the top edge front step teeth used to interleave the machinery as it completes it's work. Sunk those blades or teeth all the way in just above that knee cap.

God took a polaroid in my head and started beating my consciousness out with the POS Camera. My friend carried me into the Burger King at the top and asked the staff for minor items to keep this from too much noise.

Ive had trauma, pain etc in it's variety of forms and understood my limits and all that ego stuff. But I would give anything in the Kingdom of Aurthur's Camelot not to have that particular nerve activated. It is not fair that a big strapping idiot like myself (And all other humans) are equipped with a nerve that big.

Wow, this thread is both scary and encouraging all at the same time. I found out a few weeks ago I have to get a full hip replacement on the right side. AVN as most of you guys had. I’m only 34 so it really sucks but I can’t take the pain anymore. I let it go on way too long thinking it was a back issue or something. Now I’m on crutches waiting for surgery. Monday I’ll find out when it is.

In the early '80's I was peddling carpet with a cabover. I used to jump from that cab and out of the trailer SEVERAL times a day...
Nowadays it hurts me to just WATCH someone else jump off my flatbed!

I didn't jump, but...once a few years ago I had to sweep out a trailer,... and..... after I would sit on the tail and step off the rear bumper to the ground.
....Well, you know those loops carpenter jeans have....hammer loop..... and the bungs the doors have so they stay closed....... They are both tough enough to hang a 275lb guy from. Until he's upside down, then the jeans rip..... and you land on your head.
When I stepped off and one side of me didn't go forward... I had the time to think.. $#/t this is gonna hurt.
I was in Ohio and had to drive myself home to Nova Scotia where I saw my quack and got a months physio for my back.

####, that's way too young. Give you a recliner for 35 years with a Ceramic top end joint like me and they will Still have to revision surgery you at 65. That's worse than the original surgery.

I don't have but to sit and think 30's is just too #### young to have AVN, what is sam hill is going on with our bodies. These joints are like what my 80 year old granny had when she slipped on ice at that store. (Hell to pay in those days...)

I had a fall back in March last year and what happened was I stiffed my left leg and punched it like a hammer into the floor (Cement pad under tile) to break the fall. Well it punched the ball and crushed it instantly. CRUNCH.

Even today I think and curse how stupid I was to think ow. shake it off keep going. Why is that leg not walking, get that dam OW moving... all year. Sheesh. So I drag the #### thing. Finally into winter ER times two. They could not believe I was still functioning. That's when they introduced me to IV Diladud. No pain at all. What broken joint? I can maybe understand why some people get addicted to that crap.

My AVN is because of breaking my hip from a several foot fall onto cement at age 37. Hip replacement was age 38. Not sure why people in their 30's would get AVN unless they break their femur/hip. I have to walk over 10 miles a day on cement and lift thousands of pounds per day so i'm concerned that the hip won't last until retirement. I know once I get a revision, a manual labor job won't be an option. I live pretty cheap and hope to retire in my 50's.

Well boys, got my new hip yesterday. I had planned to stay the night but things went so well with the surgery and physical therapy that they said I could go home. I tennis shoe’d (ok wheel chaired) out of there quick as I could.

    Day 1 here we go...
