The sound of air releasing is normal ,because when you pump the hand priming pump you increase the fuel pressure in the head fuel gallery over the overflow valve limit then the fuel is passing through the steel ball and go the return circuit.
For a turbo sector shaft check it's better to do it when the engine and turbo is hot. (more accurate)

One more thing that can confirm you a turbo problem, when your engine is pulling under acceleration if you feel an engine hick up and/or hear a curius and hard and sharp air noise come from the air filter (like airflow under pressure come back from air to air and flow back to the air filter) then you have a turbo problem for sure and often that situation didn't generate any turbo fault code.

My Volvo is 520000 miles 4.4 years old.Have problem with transmission!When put in reverse gear jerks and coming light “check” and check transmission on display!What can be the problem,if anybody can help ?Tnx

I have same issue with my transmission 2015 I shift 542k
I have really bad shifting and always start with first gear empty or loaded , some times start with 4th
Any update can help please -
Might need air pressure supply regulator.. inexpensive..
It is in the end of the small air tank behind the cab , back of fuel tank area -
