I grew up in one. That's plenty.

However, the old Amesbury Mass near Boston had a wonderful bar, diner and dance floor. Just two problems First a 40's era fuel pump where its flow rate will never keep up with your fuel burn at idle. You had to shut off to fill and then it takes a hour to pump 300 gallons. One freaking hour.

Second problem. Never get a shower ticket. Any of the designated hotel rooms up stairs had 4 inches of #### roaches in layers from the room door into the bathtub. If you took your night stick and knocked on the door frame you have more of the big roaches come off the walls and add another inch to the now moving mass on the floor as they all seek out a dark spot out of the light. Including you. (Your pants at the ankles. They go right up.)

Lockers. Personally, the lounge is useful whether the TV is or not. I would rather do paperwork, cook, play a game on my laptop in the lounge. The problem is I can hop out of the truck, lock the door, go in and take a dump and when I come back my stuff is still there, but it may not be in the lounge.

I say Baloney to that human trafficking nonsense.

You see all the billboards and hear about it on the news all (and I do mean..all) the time.
    Where is it?
I’ve been back and forth, from coast to coast and everywhere in between and I’ve yet to see something unusual or anything even remotely suggesting any type of trafficking situations on the scale that’s being fed to us.
That there’s women (maybe men too) that are being held against their will for unmentionable acts, I have no doubt. But I’m willing to bet that the situation is nowhere near the catastrophe that’s being pumped into us.

I know the rhetoric.. “Even one person held against his or her own will is catastrophic”. To which I agree.
But it’s not occurring on the enormous scale that we’re being told.

The entire campaign is just an intentional diversion to keep us distracted, diverted, and divided.

If you want to see real human trafficking, just look around at all the poor truck drivers at the next, average, truck stop:
Unbelieveable working conditions exist to include; Irregular hours (sometimes driving all night, then switch back right away to driving all day, then back to nights again; Living like an animal, even like a prisoner in a tiny box with no way out; Treated with complete disrespect and being forced into acts that are contrary to what the driver would really feel much more comfortable doing (sounding familiar yet?); Irregular bathing habits (and not by the driver’s choice); A terrible diet, against the driver’s will, and with little available choices that are full of fake sugars and processed ingredients; and so on.
And all the above while being paid slave wages (especially with all the large mega trucking companies) that pay way below minimum wage.
And most of these drivers have no other choice for work; they are forced to stay out of pure desperation and necessity.
That’s why they endure these conditions for years; some even die in the truck.

The conditions that I just listed are all classic definitions of human trafficking.
That, my friend, is the real story on human trafficking.

Except for the fact that the driver can literally walk away at any time. The driver 100% chooses to be there, while the sex slave does not.

    Not a bad write up.

I have always known that Truckers are abused in this industry in a variety of ways that other professions such as airline pilots would never put up with.

Now once in a while you have something come out onto you tube or the media when a stupid trucker does something outrageously stupid. 9 foot Bridge comes to mind.

One thing, I never felt trafficked in this industry at all. If the company liked my driving I got a decent truck and got going. Some companies could not be bothered. What a waste of time that was. (And a waste of traveling etc) A couple really good outfits have themselves gone out of business such as Dowdy in Batesville. I don't recall what happened for me to leave, but you can be a trucker and roll or you can be courting and get married. Which was exactly what happened then. They don't like it when people choose to invest a little time off truck for marriage. That truck rolls on for revenue no matter what. Either with you in it or someone else will be put into it. Pronto.

Einstein was an idiot. Gravity is strictly controlled by intelligent life from another galaxy.
