I was great until I got married, I still am prudent with my money but it’s harder with a family.

Sadly, my wife is more frugal than I am. Almost bought an old Petercar a few years back; she nixed it. (<<<< Probably a good thing, tbh.)

Agreed. I’ll take my old, paid-for junk over fancy new junk any day.

When it gets slow, and it WILL get slow, there ain’t near the stress there is with big payments.

If I wanted something above and beyond the essentials while growing up (like a computer, xbox, cell phone etc) I was told go out, get a job and earn it. When you have to put in 60 hours at minimum wage JUST to buy the xbox itself, plus another 8-10 hours for each game you want you, really start to evaluate your priorities. Like how badly do I want this xbox? I'm going to have to put in 20 to 30 times this effort just to buy my first car, then insurance, gas etc. You gain an appreciation for hard work when you build yourself up from nothing. This is why I try and not blame Millenials for their laziness. Their parents enabled it by not teaching their kids the value of money and hard work.

I earned money planting fence posts for my dad and the locals around here... saved enough by 17 to buy an old dump truck, and started a trash / refuse route. Sold it into my 20's with a heck of a clientele, and ... here I am, haha!
