stretch (trombone) trailers are more common than you think. Some companies move legal loads to relocate to where the long loads are. There are some long load companies up and down the west coast that use them as well as trailer and bunk systems. The trailer and bunk systems are about the same tare weight as the trombone trailers.
At anything over 75' trailer length is real beatch to corner without a steering system.
