I have a 2019 company Kenworth t680. My cb speaker (located by the visors, next to the air horn) stopped working when my LVD warning came on. This has happened before, but it's always started working again after a few hours. It's been a week so far.

I'm a first year steering wheel holder and have no idea how to fix this. My company doesn't care because it's not a safety issue. Has anyone had this problem? The cb is fine. The onboard speaker works, but is too muffled to hear when the cb is pushed into its slot. My only other option is to buy an external speaker, but I'd really like to avoid that.

    Thanks!

Not sure what the LVD warning is, but those stock external speakers are pure junk and most of the time the plug in for it will get damaged due to the lack of space behind the radio. A cheap alternative is one of these small Astatic external speakers. You can can take the bracket off and it will fit in the cubby directly above the steering wheel. That is what I have done in the past on a T680. It's by no means the best, but is better than the factory, and it will be hidden away.

You can find these at any of the big 3 truck stops and use your points to pay for it. I think they are $15-$20.

Truck will cut off all battery draw at a pre-determined voltage. Preserve ability to start.

Some (like mine) features Auto-Start with a lengthy checklist of which the LVD is one component.

It's a feature on the newer trucks. Honestly, I'd rather just have an APU.

Ah, that's why. As far as I know, auto start is only available on sleepers. Kenworths have a thermostat in the sleeper that functions like a house ac. If the temp gets 6 degrees above your set temperature, it starts the engine and runs the ac until its cooled down.
