I think that’s clearly stated in the article.

 

And whats wrong with getting a thank you after every load which average makes the company about a grand and a half per load net profit? Or sharing some of the wealth and giving up a 50 dollar gift cert after drive has made you 35-50 grand of net profit?

Some people like to just sell themselves short and thats fine man but there are companies out there that do appreciate drivers and treat them very well... its just if you will come across one or not.

That rating is only to deceive you. You see on facebook the ratings are reviewed by the admin of the page before it can be posted. I talked to plenty of people that could not post a negative experience they had at Cheema because it was never approved by admin.

Even reviews that are independent are pretty much worthless these days. Some companies even employ someone to keep a positive light on the company. But of course a company is not gonna let you trash them on their own site.

If I hire you to do a job & pay you, I am not treating you right unless I share the profits & stroke your ego with praise & affection? Most people don't start a trucking business as an exercise in philanthropy.
Here is the job & here is what I pay, the rest is none of your business. Don't like it? Then don't apply or work elsewhere.

 

I’ve been here for 4 years. It’s actually a pretty decent company. New trucks, new trailers, and a ton of freight with lots of miles. They’ve recently expanded their service area to include most of the 11 western. Arizona, California, Oregon, Nevada, Washington, Montana, Idaho and Utah. Typical weeks are 2800-3200 miles, some more, some less. It’s unlike any company I’ve been to over the last 20+ years of driving. Worst company? Not by a long shot. I can’t tell you what Cheema was like before I got here in 2019, but my experience with them has been positive.

 

I have noticed they have new equipment now. When this guy posted this originally, I wasn't surprised. It's kind of like Legend out of Yuba City.

 

Legend is legendarily bad lol. Cheema is a completely different animal. They actually care. If you’re stuck because of weather, you get paid. They don’t force chaining. Driver appreciation week is a big deal here. Cookouts just because are a thing. No forced dispatch either. In my 23 years of driving, they’re one of the better companies I’ve seen.

 

I’d like to expand on what I had said. The owner gets involved in problems that occur. Like if a driver is unhappy. Or a problem with a shipper or receiver if there are wait times. We do quite a bit of drop and hook, but recently with freight being the way it is, we’ve had some more live loads. We had a customer that was taking advantage of drivers and wait times, and the owner personally got involved. The trucks are very well maintained and we have lots of new KWs and Petes and Freightliners. I’ve got a new T680. Trucks are not barebones and spec’d with driver comfort and convenience in mind complete with inverters, and the Pete and KW trucks have some weird APU thing on them. It’s a paccar thing I guess, with the Cascadias having the opti-idle. Like I said, I can’t speak for before 2019. But the 4 years since I got here have been some of the best trucking I’ve done in 20+ years.
