I am a smoker and have had several people ask if I had quit smoking cause my truck doesnt smell like smoke. I religiously use scented fabreeze aerosol on ALL soft surfaces. When the weather is nice I open the sleeper vents and drive with a window down to run alot of fresh air through tje cab and sleeper.
Dont Get me wrong, in the winter my truck does get a little smoky cause its too cold to air it out on the highway. During these times I clip dryer sheets to several heater and sleeper blower vents and this helps some. In the spring it gets a good deep clean with a powerful scented cleaner, such as pinesol.InTooDeep, Lepton1, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Here is an idea.
If weather permits drive with the windows down and vents open.Opus Thanks this. -

BTW, I am not a smoker and the only one who has driven this truck (I have been in it for about a year now and 121000 miles)

Odors generally accumulate on fabrics like privacy curtains, bedding and seats. Keep those things clean and you'll notice a big difference. Cleaning the windows, instrument panel and the top of the dash with window cleaner can freshen things up too. I stay away from scented stuff because it tends to leave a film on everything that makes smells worse in the long run.

You can get this at Walmart in the automotive section, you spray a little in the truck and leave because it's real strong and they let nonsmokers buy it.JoeyJunk, austinmike, G13Tomcat and 1 other person Thank this. -
I had a helluva time deoderizing my truck when I bought it. Went through three days of cleaning and deoderizing, only to find the strong smell when I came back the next morning. Finally I got down on my hands and knees and smelled the carpet.
Gag reflex!
I lifted the carpet and padding and found that it was saturated with water. Throw out the carpet and got new padding and a non carpet durable flooring. Left a dryer on in the truck overnight. Ozium sprayed everything and let it dry before installing the new flooring.
I checked for and couldn't find holes where moisture could have come up through the floorboard. I think the moisture was from condensation, sitting in cold weather. The previous owner rarely worked.
Haven't had any issues since. Ozium is great stuff.Dave_in_AZ, G13Tomcat and spindrift Thank this.
