The best thing a new O/O can get are the "tools" associated with common sense. Intelligent disciplined decision making is worth more than anything.

Wrenchs/sockets/ screw drivers/ a eletrical box with misc. stuff in it/Few extra trailer lights/hazard triangles/tarp strap/heavy duty rachet strap/ tape/ zipties/ and the stuff in a cylinder tube thats like super duper putty. You cut it off and mash it togehter and mix it together. It gets hard as steel almost when it drys. We have fixed water leaks/oil leaks/ all sorts of stuff on the road with it.. its better than duct tape for us!!...

Your buying a name I used to be a professional mechanic I sold all that crap and bought craftsman, job alt and husky guess what all lifetime warranty no receipt and half up just as well. I still have it all and am not broke.....
Don’t buy into the big name of your a driver.. Buy what you need to keep rolling with a store that is all over like Lowe’s, Home Depot, ace hardware and so on. Sears is dead anymore. If your a truck driver not a mechanic why go broke that’s what the shop is for.....Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Don't forget a good jackhammer. You never know when those trailer tandem will refuse to slide.

I use a 5/16 wrench and a flat head screwdriver to keep my automatic adjusters on point. Go figure !!!x1Heavy Thanks this.

Spare fuel filters, A FILTER WRENCH to get them off, and a pump (kerosene hand pump works awesome) to pre-fill those filters are the most important things I can think of. And, of course, a BFH. I would definitely not leave the yard without a hammer/pipe/crowbar in the truck. You'll use it for a million things.......like threatening dock personnel.
