D13 455HP OR D13 500HP

Don't know about Canada, but we get a 500 lb exception in the U.S. for the APU.

 

i cant find any info pointing to any amount. only found that the CTA supported a similar situation in 2014. They are popular with many Canadian companies. not only the Diesel fired but also battery packs as well.

the cost of the systems are staggering though. thermo king in winnipeg quoted me 17,800 CND including taxes and install. They are also sold out and have a waiting list. Carrier was close in price as well.

Both pacar brand, battery pack systems are about 10,000 CND. The peterbilt model starts the truck when the batteries get low.

I can burn a lot of idle fuel for almost 18,000....

 

And the additional emissions problems and associated downtime?
