If you have the ability to use PC then use it to find parking. Don’t over complicate it. If you don’t have it then you don’t really have a choice but to drive to find parking so just make a note in the comments as to why you went over.

Unreal, can't even move a truck to find a safe place to park? What has this industry come down to.What is the penalty for going over on you're hours, I'm curious.I guess I need to buy a new regs book and see what I've been missing.

Like a 250 dollar fine I beleive, that and a shame shame mark on a computer somewhere.

This is one of the reasons they have PC. You need safe haven to take your 10. No DOT officer would question it with a receipt for the tire repair. Your employer most likely won't have a problem with it either.

I agree but only with what I added in RED. There are some real jerks out there that will do it.
-
Can confirm. I got inspected in Belleville KS back in February and the officer made a notation on my inspection that I had exceeded the 14 hour limit by 8 minutes on January 30.
-
There are jerks out there, but if you got written up for a half mile of PC and a tire repair receipt as evidence, it wouldn't be difficult to get it overturned.
Were you on PC or was it an HOS violation? -
Go find parking then call safety to have them edit you logs if it violates you.
-
Why do you say that? He did in fact break the law.
Is it a crappy citation? Sure, but it is accurate...roshea Thanks this. -
There might be 499 cops out of 500 that are great people doing a job that don't get into that Mickey Mouse BS. the problem with that 1 is once that violation gets into the database it is hard to get out. You can go to court and might beat a charge, but even if you get the case tossed those inspection reports are not as easy to get removed as some think. I still stand on drive that truck till you can find the best place to park. However there are jerks that hate truckers and do what they can to make life as miserable for drivers as they can. After over 30 years out there I can attest to this first hand!bottomdumpin and roshea Thank this.
