Absolutely. And, like you, any driver I hire would not only have to drive and take care of the truck, but also know his stuff about loading and unloading. Simple things like the RIGHT way to kick the PTO on (not just flipping the dang switch and lettin it grind), how to load by the gauges and make it axle out when you’re at a place that has a reputation for not getting it right, when and how to wash out, how to make our company look good on location, I could go on and on here LOL. But you see what I’m saying.

    Driving is the easy part.

Much better today. Had a turkey sandwich for lunch. Pizza and two beers for dinner. I was wasting away. Next thing you know I would be sitting at BK for 4.5 hours waiting on my food in shock I was so hungry.

Yep, but I haven't sat down with a recruiter yet. Just going on what I'm hearing from their drivers. Lots of different opportunities. Higher pay for highway work that I would still be willing to do for the next year. Potential six figure earning if I put in 60-70 hour weeks. That's not money I'd turn my nose up to.

Another year of that before house and kids could set us up really nice. Not only more than the bare minimum down payment on a house, but a down payment on a new car and possibly some new furniture too.

They do work out in the MT/WY/ND area as well, and it wouldn't take me much convincing to go out there this summer.

I wish I lived closer to OK, lol. Only two things I'd need to learn is loading via gauge and washouts.

@Hurricane69 You wanna hear the worst. Sunday night, which was St. Paddys day. Here I am the Mick of the neighbourhood out puking in his gutts out in his driveway loud and heavy. I dont have the heart to tell anyone that witnessed that I had not had a drop of booze! How will I keep up my reputation as the local potato eater!

Thing is, five years from now he’ll be spewing some other senseless dribble and won’t even remember he said that.

Well that’s a shame. This fine driver that just parked beside me said he’d be glad to drive for you. You may have to teach him how to park though.
