Rate per mile was o.k., But you burn too much time doing deliveries..... I would drop in the yard for a local guy (or one on the bad monkey list) and get a real load.

NOT part of CVSA inspection criteria, it is part of the Pa Dept of Agriculture regulations that PA state police are empowered to enforce.

Give it some time and will most likely be part of it and checkpoints added just like Cali Produce/Gypsy moth/Okie check points....

I said this same thing over in another thread, PA and surrounding states where SLF is showing up will demand funding for agricultural inspection stations.

However the current inspections are for the permit only, not to check the vehicle for presence of SLF. The part that troubles me most is "Drivers in permitted trucks will be asked questions regarding SLF to verify that they have been trained."

So if pulled for inspection be prepared to be quizzed on SLF, and what happens if you don't know the answers, get a fine even if you have a permit and can show you were trained?

So I guess the big question is where would an independent driver (from the other side of the country) get training and also who is paying for the drivers time?

Pretty sure Landstar will pull together a training video to watch and generate another compliance checkbox.

Thankfully I do not run out that way so do not get to participate in the harassment fest.

Someone described Landstar as " The spouse that only hits me when they're drunk."

    I think that's pretty accurate.

I just did the webinar about 20 minutes and a 20 question multiple choice test after which you need 70% or better. The permit will be mailed to my home, I live in NEPA so I get and bring loads to these counties. The test is easy if you pay attention to the webinar. Pa gets enough of my cash so it is benificial to me.

This is why Landstar is bad. There's no freight, and you can't even get a cash advance.
