Why?
No seriously why? It's their CSA score that gets the ding is it not? If so they have every right to try and keep that score down. It literally costs them money in insurance and lost runs because of high CSA score.

In a compliance review FMCSA checks speeds right along with the HOS. Maybe someone at the company actually started checking that and found a problem with it. Maybe they think that they're close to an audit. Like it has been said, don't like it, get your own authority. Then all the rules/regulations can go out the window. And it will make great entertainment later if you're caught.

There doing 57 in a 50 for example..... there is newer gps tech that match’s your position to the speed limit for that spot. And send a email to safety dept to rat you out every time you go 5 over the posted limit....... -

In European Union such speeds recorded on their tachographs are subjects to fines per their regulations. They can go weeks back and if they find that you were over any speed limit, they will likely issue a ticket. It is not only last 8 days.

This came off Qualcomm’s website.....
“Many communications and driver tracking systems now are offering carriers the ability to monitor speed violations long-distance. Typically fleet managers get a daily report in their email summarizing driver speed violations. PeopleNet last year started offering a near-real-time email alert sent when a driver triggers a speeding event, so management can address the issue promptly and knows where and when the event occurred”KB3MMX Thanks this.
