Ain't we just 2 sides of the coin? You didn't get enough, and I'm #####in about too many. But we got relatively close to the same.
Is any one turning miles??

I like the miles when I open my check. Once I am out of the hole, I'll be more happy with less miles...
-
But when you get there, you'll have another problem. Too many miles.
My dispatcher keeps asking me if I'm getting enough. Even after being told no less than a dozen times, I'm happy with 2k a week.
It's always something new to b#### about -

I see your from WI. If you want tons of hours and steady work get on with a milk hauler. I started part time just for something to do this winter. Now I'm getting 30 - 70 hrs a week as a sub driver. It's too good of money and too easy of work to turn down the hours.

Miles for me have been above 2000 miles per week every week for november, december, january and febuary. I took 2 weeks off for christmas.
March has been good, I am presently on home time, in wyoming, and pick up in denver co friday morning to begin running again. first run to Maryland, for 1900 paid miles, deliver early on the 30th. I wont look back, and will run miles until I run out of hours.
I run legal, make good money, and enjoy OTR... and yes I pull a refer -
If it weren't for the news on XM and the banter of complaints from others, I might not know there was an economic downturn. I have been doing as well this winter as any other year. I have hardly dropped from my average of about 35,000 miles a quarter for the last 11 years out of a total of 26. My spreadsheets are telling me that my net for the month of March will turn out to be a very good month. January was no more worse than typical for seasonal.
Just wish it were going as well for others here. I have experienced a lot of economic ups and downs over the years. We will work thru this one. The marginal companies will go belly up (good riddance). The carriers and operators that manage things well will have a great time when the economy bounces back, as will the drivers that are on board with them.
It hurts while it is going on, but things will come back around. Change is the only constant in the universe. -
The past few months have been really bad for me. Figure 1500-2000 weekly average. This last week has been good though. I will come just short of 3000 miles. The bad part is, if I cant deliver this load early, Ill be sitting under it for 3 full days.
