I have a solution to that drama show in the drivers room of a company.

Grab a stack of all company forms, permits etc. Everything they possess. Stick all of it into a brief case.

Go to Operations Manger or your Driver Advocate. Tell him or her that you intend to run 5 months or more in a general area. For example I told my company long ago to keep me on I-10 until spring. (It was about October to May) What they did was Cable and chain west from Jacksonville fla and oilrig pipe east from houston. The only reason we brought the truck back to the midwest the following year was a rather expensive gripe list that had about 50 items that need TLC at the shop there. I pretty much had run out of duct tape and spare parts by then.

If you are far away from headquarters for a long time, there is no one left hanging around to give you or anyone a hard time. Some of the best arrangements Ive seen were destroyed by others who wish to be drama queens and stir up trouble when there is none at all. (Unless you plant a kiss on dispatcher or something stupid...)

Here in the south things a little different. When I grew up in Maryland I constantly as a young driver ran into the yankee boss man saying nope you are not qualified. Ive told stories about that a time or two. When I cam west into Arkansas I find bossman saying can you run that loader and not kill anyone? Yes, get up there. It really depends on the boss though One boss might see me in hell before I am in his loader, and the next boss across the county will have me in two loaders. And the yankees don't want it. (I am deaf.. it's a problem they have, not me.) So much drama.

There is one exception and that's in the Tidewater area. You can go there have a meal and it will be a while. By the time you wrap that up it's time to get dinner together. Next thing you know the day's gone and no one has hardly done any work. That's what tomorrow is for. Nothing changes. =)

Some people would complain if they had a winning lottery ticket. Not a fan of colored posts but not difficult to read either.

You got that point across many times when this driver started at SRT. You don’t work there anymore, so let this driver be happy for Christ sake. :biggrin_25513:

Anybody that leaves a mans wife hanging as to the whereabouts of her hubby who was found dead in a rest area and wouldn't transport him home wouldn't be a company I'd want to work for.

I hope she's sueing the company.

When I see an SRT truck. That's all I think about.

    POS's.

why should WE HAVE TO go thru all that jazz to read a posting.>??

i am a member of a few websites, and even though we can choose colors and sized fonts, would you believe me if i say, it all reverts to simple fonts and black type.>???

no need to get all ridiculous and have bright colored words, other than maybe one or two to maybe emphasize something or highlight something.
