Those days are gone permanently. Enter the Electronic Logging which was a bastardized enforcement system introduced to make sure you are chained to your Hours of Service.
When your time is up you better be parked legally. Anything and everything you have heard or thought you have heard about more than one logbook is in the realm of lunch counter today. Basically BS. Any one telling you to run that is exposing themselves and their company to prosecution.
The money will take care of itself. Keep your left door shut and stay out of the casinos. -
I know there are some, but I never met a trucker that runs legally electronic or otherwise. Worked for 6 companies and have run all 48. When you are in line off duty and pull forward slowly 100 feet with an electronic log after sleeping 2 or 3 hours, ""etc etc etc"" you are breaking the law. Period. When you let it roll downhill in the middle of nowhere 75 or 80 mph you are breaking the law.

####!
Don't come on here bragging about how you run illegal. That's why we all have to deal with these elogs now. You people can't keep your mouth shut. By the end of this year EVERYONE except the 2000 and older guys will be on elogs even the locals like myself.
BTW this thread is 12 years old and you can run outlaw with 1 log. No need to confuse your dumb self with 2 logs.Brettj3876 and Lepton1 Thank this. -
I don't run 2 log books and it would be a naivete to think everyone including cops doesn't know what everyone is doing. I wasn't bragging and it is not possible to run illegal with one log book unless it's loose leaf. It is, however easily and entirely possible to run illegal with electronic logs, but that's not what this forum is about. My first post said don't get into an accident with 2 log books and and if you do reach out illegally -your employer will expect it......dummy.Last edited: Mar 23, 2019

Ok fella!
1. I don't need to prove myself to you.
2. If you're doing stuff illegal. You dont talk about it on the internet.
3. How do you think the DOT, FMCSA, learn how we got around the laws. Loose lips sink ships.
4. Back in the day I've been from Savannah Ga to Kansas City MO to Buffalo NY and back. In a Day Cab don't tell me 1 log book can't be done.
5. Shut the hell up! Keep it to yourself.
6. Yes elogs can be cheated. But shut the hell up!
Dummy!
Shut the hell up! -
I'm going to delete all this in a bit, but I don't drink alcohol and post on my 34. People like that make a right lane change into grandma with the sun behind them with a hangover and a log book that is not current or somehow fd up is the reason we are on elogs. If you are in the same truck, with the same odometer with the same log book and finish at 1pm you are not going to get away with starting again at 8pm. That's all there is to it. I actually prefer elogs. I'm not in debt, don't deal with fd up shippers and receivers and my wife works, and don't like working crazy hours for the same or little more money-dummy. -
Rubicon your second to last post tells me you don't intend to run legally with electronic logs.
Im sorry to see you take that position. I don't find it acceptable at all. In a time long ago I was running three books on paper or none at all, easier and cheaper to pay no log book fine than the actual damning OOS amount and losses etc. In the later years Ive flipped to wearing a white hat. No need to run illegal anymore. There is no money in it and you eat the risk if you (And when) you get caught.
I think we are finished here. -
Yes, we’re done here.
Lepton1, Mastertech and REO6205 Thank this.
