    It doesn’t seem my headache rack will fit easily on my new truck. What are other options for chain storage?

    My trailer is a lowboy and I can’t put any boxes on it. I do however have about 3’ of wide open frame rail on each side of the truck in between the axles and cab. What are some good boxes I could mount here? Do the chains get all tangled up not hanging like in a rack?

    I carry:
    Four 1/2” binders
    Ten 3/8” binders
    Four 5’ 1/2” chains
    Eight 10’ 3/8” chains
    Two 20’ 3/8” chains

    Hang some boxes on the frame and you could also mount an in frame box.

    Where? I don’t want to crawl under the truck to get to it. The trailer isn’t an RGN. Here is a picture.

    Ah, I thought it was an RGN, I would probably put a box right on the front of the deck unless you use that space a lot. Otherwise yeah on the frame in front of the drives is usually the next best option. Yes the chains get tangled in boxes.

    Maybe? The problem is getting u bolts to work anywhere close to the cab. I have seen some headache racks that bolt on with holes drilled in the frame. That would work I think but would require a ton of work removeing the diesel tank, DPF, etc to get access to drill the holes.

    Aside from that I am kind of liking having the nice window to look out the back.

    I have jail bar window in my rack. One like that and every time you look out you can be grateful you have other windows.
