Man was he stupid. Locked trailer brakes. At minimum 8 500 dollar tires need replacing. If it was loaded...

It must have been a automatic. Push D and go. oh don't you touch that scary big red button please. Just the yellow.

HA... *I weep when people show stupidty... at epic levels.

If I wanted fast I'll take the Koingsegg on the Nurburgring. I understand the record is a 6 minute 45 second lap. I might try it.

    Upinsmoke and mjd4277 Thank this.

Fast is fun... But 80,000 gvw AND fast is better. But alas the number of triple digit trucks on the road is not what it used to be... And obviously that idiot wouldn't be able to get it up to that speed, as I highly doubt there are ANY auto-shift triple digit trucks out there.

I would not want a automatic at dollar speeds. Ive spent almost a couple of years with dollar trucks. First with Hahn in I-270 and 495 and later with another outfit with a one hell of a 515 detriot and rockwell 9 cabover about the 95 model year. Fuel pump quits at 116 but momentum carries you to 130ish loaded. I remember westbound prior to Milesburg upgrade on I-80 I would slow to 121 exactly or lower to negotiate that final curve just before the upgrade for 10 miles. 5 miles up I would still be at 85 and falling. At the summit around 60 and pulling. Back to 120+ in a couple of miles.

Translates to PA border to border in about 3 hours and change slowing to legal speed 5 seperate and specific mile markers that are constant police traps. Those days are over and the company itself is imploded. There is no justification for that kind of running from say Harrisburg to Cincinatti overnight. OR Little Rock by noon next day. And I consider myself a much more professional out of necessity. I don't like to talk about it much because I'm the slow one here. Others have done the western desert at closer to 170+ where it's wide open. One road comes to mind, truth and concenquences. That's about a 25 mile run if you can get it close to 200 and stay there all the way westbound.

Those days are gone forever. And I suppose I should say it's a very good thing. However the trucking companies took the governing thing way past reasonable when herds of truckers pack I-40 east at memphis fighting one another around 62 or so for 200 miles until the Cumberland Plateau strings em out.

I've had the pleasure of running cattle across Nevada, Utah, and Idaho behind the wheel of a W900L with a very powerful, and even more responsive 3406... I had it doing better than a dollar many times. Those were good times... A Dollar & Ten through the moonlit night on any of several long roads in the middle of nowhere.

I wouldn’t mind taking on the Nurburgring in my own car, just for the thrill of it.
Ahhh Germany. The one place where you could run triple digit speeds and not worry about getting a speeding ticket!lmao
