O/O in Eastern TN

    Do we have any owner operators in eastern Tennessee? I own a rental cabin in Sevierville and would love to move down there one day but I have no idea how the trucking industry is there. (Prefer local dump, flatbed, container, etc.) I have been in business 6 years here in Northern Illinois, but wondering if I could actually swing moving down there, or if it’s just a pipe dream and I should keep plugging here. Thanks in advance guys!

    I'm based in East Tn. There are a good many O/O's here. Knoxville is a major freeway crossroads (40/75) and a good bit of manufacturing pretty close by. You're right here halfway between all of the manufacturing centered around ATL and the SE coast and the midwest states too. Also, easy one day run up 81 in to PA and all of the NE sector.

    The rates are ok for me, not the best or worst but I'm a pretty new O/O and haven't even tried to get any regulars. I run dry van just off load boards and it's all I've ever run so I can't tell you about local dump, flatbed or container. I can usually get out and I can usually get home without too much trouble.

    Thanks for reply. Hopefully I can get someone to chime in on the local work as well. That’s really all I’ve ever had experience with. Although I do appreciate the insight you gave me!

    Check with Blalock, they will be in your neck of the woods over there. They take on a lot of contract trucks. They're good people

    I forgot about them, yep they are huge. Based in Sevierville off Dolly Parton PKWY, easy to find.
