Honestly I don’t think anyone worries about it. Every time I have had it done (because why I don’t know - I can NEVER get the bolts loose with my big air compressor and impact!) the mechanic just tightens them down with the impact. I’m sure technically there is a torque value, but I don’t know it.
Socal Xpress and proven23 Thank this. -
I guess that's what I'm going to do if I can't get the numbers thanks for your reply

Replace the bolts when you do the work, torque them tight.

Brap braaaaaaapppppp!!!!!!

I just looked it up and that is the exact torque specs. for shock bolts. Strangely enough it's the same for all of the truck manufacturers.AModelCat Thanks this.

The nuts on the bolts are usually self locking so if you tighten them down to at least 100 ft lbs you should be fine.

You must have a weak compressor or air impact as I can loosen them with my Matco cordless impact with 1300 ft lbs of reverse torque.
The only time my impact wouldn't loosen them up was when the bolts and nuts were seized from rust on my friend's truck and I had to get the torch out to heat up the bolt, and that was after he took it to two different shops and they tried with their air impacts. -
M16: 220+-35 Nm ( 162+- 26 ft-lb ) Grade 8.8. Use some anti seize on those bolts so much easier to remove them later.
