The only drawback I can see (besides losing the pleasure of holding the glow plug switch for a couple minutes when it's cold), is the loss of that pre-cup rattle!

 

That was probably the best upgrade you can do to a pc 3406A. Like @wore out , not a bad deal but I know A model parts are getting kinda hard to find.

Pros, no glow plugs or broken or fried wiring to deal with. No more cracks in the pre com chambers.

Cons.....other that trying to find a good used head and have a machine shop go threw it or spend a chunk of change on a new head, I cant really think of any in my opinion.

 

You already check the salvage yards ? There's more Truck salvage yards in San Antonio than probably any place else on Earth. But you already knew that since you're there..

 

Get a better dealer.
Check with V&H in Marshfield,Wi.
Or Wicks in Omaha .
They should be able to get the parts you need.

 

This is none of my business Zev, and I'm not defending your company, but until recently you spoke well of them and enjoyed your work.

I think that you would feel better about the whole deal if you follow your advice and calm down before giving your notice.
