Check out Tyson foods. They will reimburse somewhere around $3000 for school once you get on your own. Might check with them before signing up for a school as ypu would be better off if going with them to find a cheaper school. They will send you out with a trainer for 6-8 weeks first. Private carrier haul our own freight so our slowdowns arent as bad as everyone else when economy slows down.

Teaming is good as long as you can stand each other for long periods of time in a small space. I couldnt do it.

Here's a program available in Texas & Washington.
DOCK TO DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAM Lynden is looking for candidates interested in a driving career!
Did you know that 70 percent of all freight in the U.S. is moved by truck? Become an everyday hero and contribute to the U.S. economy.
Do you want to be challenged, respected and rewarded? Truck driving is an excellent profession to pursue if you want a job that allows you to be both independent and part of a team. Travel around the country and enjoy some of the most amazing views.
At Lynden, we are looking for candidates who want to learn from the ground up by working our docks while going to school to get the training needed to earn your CDL class A license. You’ll have an assigned mentor and learn about Lynden too, so that when you get your license, you’re ready to move into the driver’s seat. We even pay the tuition at an accredited school of your choice.
If you’re 21 years of age or older, have a good driving record and meet student eligibility, we want you to join the Lynden family.

    Apply now at www.lynden.com/D2D

Money is important but in this job safety and experience so get you the money. Y drive 4 u and every idiot on the road. And personally team is good momey. My advice use that to get experience and knowledge of this industry.I have 19 years driving over the road still love driving but I'm still single time for the home life maybe a cutie and a kid. But u young go flatbed anything more physical than van cuss 20 years of that you're belly b a drink.holder lol.just an d school buddy of mine #### he.71 owns a moving company and will grab the end of a dresser or anything just as fast as a young man.I personally flat bed for that and being more involved in work then just driving lol. And if u have the money do at least a 4-6 week all day school man you'll come out a better driver of that not possible afternoons and.weekends .10 is weeks is eight lol.good luck to.you what do I do now and u 21 cuss u got to b at least that to drive.

Yeah you can definitely do well at FFE teaming as new drivers. I pulled in 80k my first year. And doing a little better so far this year.

Their best money is probably in plasma hauling donations to warehouses. You drive all over the country. I wish i had a friend I got along well with to do the job.

One thing about plasma is you spend a lot of nights parked in the city you are picking up at. So you arent just driving past them. Sometimes theres some neat stuff close by you can chexk out, or split an Uber.

Also there are a lot of planet fitness locations near where we pick up if you are a fitness minded person at all.

You also load your trailer at pick ups. It pays $30.00 each and takes an average of about 35-45 minutes. Lots of accessory pays come with the job.

They give you a week off per month and they pay you 850 that week to stay on call. I worked through a home time recently and got a great run. Check for that week was 3450.00

I went over there as a temp to cover a couple of rounds from Dallas area to Edmonton, Alberta as a relay a team was taking it to Red Dog, I took there load back to Houston. Plenty of mile, they had a driver hit end of watch you might say and flew me out to recover the load, tractor and trailer and finish the schedule before the next guy took over. Working as a temp driver can be real interesting, but sometime a little creepy.

Study on here; scroll to top of page and click on "CDL Practice Tests" , then memorize as much as you can.
Still better to attend a school or "dock to driver program."
Are you 21 yrs. old or older?
Where are you located; we'll give you some ideas.
