If you have ABS brakes that are working correctly (if not get them fixed, if there on there they are required to work, not a option) the trolley valve will get most drivers into trouble, if they are working let them you cannot react faster than the computer. Most whom have trouble try stab braking and with a ABS that's possibly one of the worst things you can do you will much up the system, apply hole the brakes and let it work. If your going to fast and over heating the brakes well your in trouble.

All that does is check that the spring side of the chambers are working. Service brakes may still have problems.MysticHZ Thanks this.

Thats all the tug test tells you id that the spring brake worked once. Get out get under and check your brakes and your fifth wheel lock. Don't be scared, there is a trolling hiding under there but it won't hurt you if its your trailer.

You will also be in a big BUUZZZ generator. when the ABS is going. Mind your steering and use it to get out of the problem while maintaining your braking.
The old style rapid stabbing is just slow. It worked in the old days before computers when they had to.. but today's ABS is really something. Both in big rigs and in cars etc. I had my olds on gravel once and needed to back it down and the ABS buzzed correctly on just that affected wheel. Otherwise I would have spun. (Front right)
The one thing ABS will not do except in absolute extremis is activate on dry pavement. I forced our relatively new car to stop absolutely right now from 70 down when a person was coming into my lane on foot trying to beat all of us across the highway.
The car stood on it's nose, squealed a little dragging the back axle and was just enough not to hit him. If I needed more braking I had it. But did not want to warp the rotors any more than they already were.
