@johndeere4020 Food for thought. I ran grain with a gent for a few days that had a new pete and a 500 paccar. He asked me "which cat I had". He looked pretty upset when I told him its a 12.7l detroit. I wasn't driving hard and we both were only grossing 80k all week. He couldn't even stay close to me. He had nothing good to say about it.

What does that have to do with not building gliders anymore?

Just at home today doing some general maintenance. The latch on the storage compartment under my passenger steps has been rusted shut since I bought the truck. Put some time into it today to get it open assuming it was empty. Found a set of triple tires chains, a mechanic creeper and a box of red shop rags. Bonus!

@TripleSix How’s the new rifle? You shoot it yet?

This is a man I know personally and has forgotten more about the AR-15 platform than I could ever figure out. What he does here is the best thing you can do to keep that rifle running.

    Indeed.

Certainly not much sense in allowing yourself to be taken advantage of.

    Definitely well said.

I would add that the whole raising kids and providing for your family deal makes it more difficult to say no. I was as you describe, thinking that I will always have work if I always say yes and try to give more than the other guy. I however can't say if I regret it or not, because I don't know how things would have been had I not been that way. I did always take a week in the summer, and another in the winter to take the kids to visit their grandparents. Three of my four grandparents passed before I was born. and the fourth when I was young, so I wanted my kids to enjoy what I missed out on.

Made Commerce City TA. The Sapp was plug full, the Loves before you get here was jam packed, I will never go into the J here in a big truck again.

Looks like all paid parking here at the TA now. At 2:30 there were 4 reserved spots left at $16 each, they have “Reserved Attendants” in golf carts roaming the lot as we speak. I’m sure they get in some heated conversations? 81ED56D4-F4A9-4414-A69A-E7EB39C225E1.jpeg CEF5CF0D-5C78-49A9-966E-C48B0977A55A.jpeg

This is getting out of hand in this town.

Normally I don’t have a problem and lay up outside of town. But Friday was such a screwup that there were the cards being delt.

Haven't made it home yet. Doing the typical thing and watching youtube videos.

Was at a gun shop yesterday...they had a Saint pistol come in that they were trying to sell. Some guy bought it, put a red dot on it and some high dollar trigger (they kept reminding me that the trigger cost $500). I offered them $850 cash. They told me that they need a grand. A brand new one costs $800.

"But this one has a $500 trigger! They're going to list this one for $1500 because of the red dot and the trigger and all the upgrades."

Sure. That's okay hand. I will just wait until I get home and order a new one.

"Oh, but this one is so nice. It's already built. Has a $500 trigger."

    I don't need a $500 trigger.

    "......."
