Freightliner unveils big rig

Fenders are definately a horrible idea, how can you even pretrip/inspect those things?Other than that not a bad looking truck but then again i like the looks of the Lonestar so what do I know

 

That is one ugly SOB. What ever happened to trucks? Ya know, long hoods, sun visors, stacks. Jesus criminy that's ugly!

 

I'm with Smitty, but then again, I'm as old as the school. The new trucks just look like cars with a stick on the inside too. I'm not thrilled. Gimme an early '90's Pete any day.

 

real trucks are only made by paccar, but as someone said before, wait till some wheel holdin door slamer gets behind the wheel, you see them every day, fairings on the back of the bunk smashed, bumpers destroyed, front fenders mangled, side skirting missing or badly busted, or just drives like he in a dragrace everytime he takes off. I bet if you put alot of the wheelholder out there on the road behind the wheel of that ugly truck it wouldn't get 6 mpg

 

I like the look of the front half the truck, but the rear just looks gay as hell. Way to future concept.

 

I do like the flat black though...........

 

LOL. 2 of the biggest mistakes ever in trucking are the T2000 and Pete 387. Total flops....and both Paccar. Just ask any Paccar executive and they cringe when you bring up those 2 models.

Paccar makes some great trucks...not denying that. But so are Cascadias. The cascadia is by far the quietest and smoothest running and most efficient truck in our fleet. Not to say other trucks can't be as well...but I'd stack the Cascadia up against anything Paccar makes for quiet and quality ride.

 

Uh..........are you joking? Freightliner doesn't even know what quality is. Everything in that truck will be a rattle bomb at about 20k miles, if it hadn't already fallen off by then.

 

I love a Pete or a Kenworth, but in my line of work I want them short and stubby with a good turning radius. I've had to drive a W900 and a 359 before and they were a pain in the rear when it came to backing up in the woods at someones house. Hell, Ch model Macks can be too big sometimes. Ahh the life of a dump trucker.

 

By real truck I meant the w-9 or 378/379 At 938k miles my 379 has no rattles, creeks,squeeks, or any other noise that I can hear from the cab, and I wouldn't give up my low leaf susp. for anything
