I actually never have run a CB in a truck period until about a month ago. I have to turn off the BS pretty regularly but when I'm moving in an area where I know there are usually a lot of cops I do get a huge benefit from listening to other drivers tell me where they are. I bet it's saved my butt 5 times in the last month.
I bought a cheap one when I was about to go west to Seattle through a blizzard and it paid off for that too.

I bought a XM satellite radio receiver when XM first started. Had it mounted in my dash and it had a adapter that you slid into your cassette player.
Got pulled into the scale in Winchester VA and had a hell of a time convincing the super troopers that it was not a radar detector.NavigatorWife and wore out Thank this. -
You are a saint. I go through Denver a lot. I never even considered the 55mph section on the I-25 as being patrolled. Well I read your post and last night I slowed down to 55 and low and behold there was 3 bears working that strip. You saved me. Thanks!NavigatorWife, striker and austinmike Thank this.

I think its funny when an under cover has the cop style rims. Dead give away right there

Back before they made them illegal in a CMV and the speed limit was still 55, I had a Whistler. Can't even remember the model #, but it was considered "state of the art". You'd get used to where the false alarms were, and when the cops started using the "instant-on" radar, you could (hopefully) pick up when someone was getting "zapped" ahead of you...
As far as relying on a CB, I think these days you see more trucks WITHOUT radios than you see with them...
And @MACK E-6, my daughter has an app on her phone for gps. Well, it's pretty funny cuz you can operate it with different voices. She runs it in "Mr T" mode, and if there's a cop up ahead, he says, "SLOW DOWN SUCKA"NavigatorWife, 86scotty and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
That, and the window tint at a level that’s illegal for the rest of us.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

I used to run a radar detector way back in the day. I found it was extremely useful in letting me know when I was going to get a ticket.
booley, NavigatorWife and otterinthewater Thank this. -
Now that’s funny.
