so I’m a new driver and I get the ####ty truck. I’m a big gamer, so for the past 2 months I haven’t been able to play. I was wondering if as a company driver, I can have a generator inverter in my truck. I will put it out in the catwalk when I’m using it to game since I can’t put a inverter in the truck.

Worry about running loads and getting rest if you’re new.

I am not against gaming. I just know me being new in the OTR trucking world the last thing on my mind would be gaming. It would be planning day by day and trying to run as hard as possible. If I did get bored I would get a handheld gaming device or something, not set up a whole console.

With Elogs you won't be allowed to run as hard as possible. Even so, you can make good paychecks and have plenty of free time each day. I'm not a gamer, but anything is better than hanging around a truck stop TV lounge. I spent my free time in the truck, reading books or listening to XM radio. That's your home away from home, so be comfortable.

considering the op drove 130 miles BACK to his terminal, instead of calling them and asking them WHAT TO DO, i agree, he needs to remember this is a job...entertainment can come later....if they don't fire him first.

Op I can understand you I like playing games too but in this job games are for those days you have to do a 34 or got a very slow load or waiting to unload/load at those places that take hours to. Anything else is time to rest, eat, catch up on paperwork, shower, or to inspect your truck. Try your best to avoid video gaming on days you’re running normally as it will cut into your sleep time which may get you in some issues when you rack up too much sleep debt.
