    I personally wouldn't think that UPS Freight is as volatile as UPS (the courier company) as far as seasonal hiring, but that might be just my impression.

    Either way, good luck with the new job.

    Its a permanent full time position. Its not seasonal or temporary. The courier side is the one that hires seasonally not the UPS freight side.

    Good job man! Keep us posted on how it goes, I wouldn't mind a gig like that one of these days.

    Give us a rundown on how you passed the coupling/uncoupling of doubles if you had no experience. did they give you tips at all as you went?

    Doubles are easy. Just park the dolly in front of what is to be the back trailer, and then hook your tractor to the front one. Position the front one in front of the back one. Attach the dolly to the pintle hitch. Back the dolly under the trailer, then connect the chains and air lines.

    UPS contacted Roehl Transport looking for drivers to drive team for them to move cargo for the Christmas season. They anticipated a high volume. My husband had signed up for that but last week he got a message from his dispatcher stating UPS has decided that they do not need Roehl because their freight is down.
